Hi! My name is Maureen O’Keefe and I’d like to welcome you to my website.

Over the past several years, I have witnessed a growing disharmony and division in America, primarily on political and racial lines. Tens of thousands of people of every race, color and creed took to the streets in the summer of 2020 to exercise their Constitutional right to peacefully protest. Others used it as a means to forward their own agenda and create chaos and hate through violence and destruction.

This deeply concerns me, as I’m sure it does the vast majority of Americans.

United We Stand

A key component of America’s inherent strength and resilience has always been the ability to come together, united in purpose and to act for the common good. History has shown this to be true, time and time again.

For example, during the 17th and 18th century, British subjects immigrated to America in search of freedom from religious persecution and the hope of a better life for themselves and their families. After a decade of conflict with the British crown, they formed an army under the leadership of George Washington. On July 4, 1776 the Declaration of Independence was issued. Within five years, the colonists had all but won their independence. However unlikely, the colonists – united in purpose – defeated the world’s greatest military power of the time and achieved independence. They would forever be known as the United States of America.

In modern times, we need look no further than the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on American soil. When NYFD firefighters ran into the Twin Towers minutes before the collapse, there is absolutely no question in my mind that their intention was to “save lives” regardless of race or political affiliation. For months, Americans came together and worked tirelessly to do everything they could to get through this horrific event. Even the New England Patriots, who were underdogs at the time, came onto the field in their red, white and blue uniforms and, after paying tribute to those who lost their lives in the attack, went on to win their first SuperBowl. That win was not just for themselves and their New England fans but for all Americans. In the words of Patriot’s owner, Robert Kraft, “Spirituality, faith and democracy are the cornerstones of our country. We are all Patriots!

It’s Time to Take a Stand

As an American, I agree with and support the principles expressed in the Declaration of Independence which states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

As a humanitarian, I also agree with and support the principles expressed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that all men, women and children of whatever race, color or creed are born free and equal in dignity and rights; that these rights are unalienable and that no one has the right to deny or subvert these rights, overtly or covertly.

It is for these reasons that I decided to create this website. I can think of no better time than now for all Americans to work together – UNITED in the purpose of ensuring that every man, woman and child of whatever race, color or creed are treated equally and with dignity and are free to exercise their unalienable right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

It is our unalienable right as Americans
