Respect the Religious Beliefs of Others

The recent controversy surrounding the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games, including performances which were highly offensive to Christians around the world, highlights the importance of one of the precepts found in the booklet, The Way to Happiness, i.e. “Respect the Religious Beliefs of Others”

What does to “respect‘ really mean?  According to the Oxford dictionary, it means to give “due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others.

Had the opening performances been critiqued beforehand with this in mind, the resulting upset would never have occurred and the “Spirit of Unity” that the Olympic Games creates would not have been tarnished.

It is important for each of us to respect the religious beliefs of others.
